Overdose of Christmas and give it up for Lent

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, and for us dastardly papes is means not eating any meat other than fish. Funny how fish suppers are now much more expensive thanks to the wonderful Common Fisheries Policy *Note Sarcasm* and that the likes of County Donegal and Grimsby are suffering due to Spanish Trawlers; they even nick fish off the Canadians.

Rant over!

Yesterday was cold and wet and I had a series of First World Problems. The Turkish Barber in Cookstown appears to be closed all day on Tuesdays, so after my massage in Cookstown I drove to Magherafelt to get a haircut and shave from the Kurdish Barber there. I bought a cappuccino for the sake of having 50p loose change in Cookstown, only to find out that the 50p coin I had wasn’t accepted by the machine. In the end I put in a £1 coin and got 50p change; in the shape of 2 20p coins and 1 10p coin. Then, on the way back home, some c**t ran across the road from a filling station to the shop at Ballyronan – a village on the way back – and I was already feeling pi$$ed off due to the issue with the ticket machine.

When I got back I meditated and feel much better again. Hopefully today will be much better. 🙂
