Moving soon

I now have the keys for my new home. In the meantime, I’ll keep moving everything over; while thanking God for his goodness.

My plan is to buy another property, to rent out, while focusing on my vision; poetry and podcasting. Watch this space.

Also, I’ll attend a Month’s Mind Mass this evening – at Lissan Chapel – for a Fourth Cousin who committed suicide.

I feel better

August is starting well, for me. My IKEA bed base came this morning. However, there are some sections which require more than one person arranging it. God willing, my uncle will help me.

I ordered my first bits of recipes for suggestions from The Batch Lady – Suzanne Mulholland. She had a top time-management role in America before becoming a Farmer’s Wife in Scotland. Sounds right up my alley.

I am glad the Superstars CafΓ© is returning to normal hours from this week on. But it isn’t the same with Lockdown. They’re trying to crack a nut with a pneumatic drill.

Tomorrow, I plan to attend a CafΓ© in Draperstown for a half-price fry as part of a UK-Wide initiative throughout August. Mid Ulster is virtually Covid-free. So why should we wear masks here? We’re not New York or LA.

For now, I have to focus on reducing expenses rather than look for work. But, this Friday, I will see a Social Farm outside Claudy to see if I would enjoy it. Get back to what I was supposed to do. πŸ™‚

No job – But much-needed rest!

I didn’t go back to the job. Instead, I got an appointment – by phone – in a few weeks with my Key Worker and Shrink about a diagnosis of General Anxiety Disorder. For now, I have a leaflet about Anxiety.

My brother wanted a drive-in test for Covid last week. He didn’t get one, but I got a home-kit test; which I did yesterday morning. God willing, it will be another negative. It might be my hayfever acting up that’s making my throat sore.

I got a Tonic drink- that I ordered from Holland and Barrett. Because of that, I feel more energised. Plus, I am taking Vitamin C tablets – fizzy. Perhaps online shopping isn’t so bad. πŸ™‚

This week is the week where public-sector workers are on annual leave; due to ‘The Twelfth.’ I am still awaiting a refund from EasyJet. I passed on the contacts to the Consumer Council; only to find out that they’re off all week, and most of the staff are furloughed. That’s what happens whenever a country is so dependent on the Government for employment. 😦

And I am pissed off at Thierry Henry. US issues have NO PLACE in Football. 😐

Possessed

Yesterday, I was at a Christian CafΓ© in Stewartstown and heard Schizophrenic voices in my head; saying, “Hail Satan!” My friend from Desertmartin says it’s a reaction to the change in medication – raising my Citalopram to 30 mg – while my Key Worker says it’s the effect of stress. I reckon it’s both.

Today, I feel better. Prayer and outreach do help issues pass. Lifeline Helpline is a Godsend for me.

I bought a free-range chicken on Thursday, at the butcher with a 10% off discount through the voucher from my Slimming World group, and have the bird in my slow cooker until roughly 1 pm today. However, I gained two pounds in the past weigh-in.

Later, today, I will visit my neighbour. While Ireland faces the All-Blacks in less than an hour in the Rugby Union World Cup Quarter-Final. I reckon we’ll beat them, but get walloped by England in the Semi-Final; I tipped England to win the whole thing before the tournament began. πŸ˜€

Jools Holland and George Harrison – Horse to the Water

Hot under the collar

Today, I drove to Sion Mills and back. The drive was to attend a Strawberry Fair at the Parish Church. There was a Country String Band playing; as well as a Bagpipe Band and an Orange Flute Band. I had taken photos which are on http://www.tinyurl.com/des-flickr

I got home in one piece, after getting frustrated with driving across the Sperrins.

Then, after returning home, I walked to the cemetery in Ardboe for the annual blessing of the graves. Then my uncle lifted me back. I was glad that I had a good day. The weather was beautiful. πŸ™‚

Also, miracle of miracles, my ‘r’ key on my MacBook Pro works again. There is no logical reasoning why that happened. It was an act of God.

Was at a poetry gig this lunchtime

I went to see Mike Garry headlining a poetry gig from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm at the Black Box in Belfast and got to immerse myself in eclectic poetry from him and the support acts.

I braved the elements this morning, exaggeration, to get the bus to Belfast from Castledawson park-and-ride; which should be my home address. πŸ™‚ Then after I got back I got groceries at Lidl. Chop wood, carry water. πŸ™‚

I found out about the Red Pill Studio and wonder how I can contact them without resorting to either Twitter or Facebook. Every time you log onto one of those two sites, God kills a Calf! Someone think of the Calves! πŸ™‚

Arsenal won again, after eight minutes of injury time and getting a penalty at the end. Jaysus, talk about skating on thin ice.

One of the support acts was a quintessential Millennial originally from a Scumbag area of Dublin, but now a budding Actress living in London. (imagine Buffy with a Flat Dublin Accent) I mentioned seeing Mike support John Cooper Clarke at Dun Laoghaire last May and about the bus that goes from Tallaght to Dun Laoghaire. The number 75.

Just a little plug for Mike Garry; his EP ‘St. Anthony – a tribute to Anthony H. Wilson’ is available on iTunes.

My Birthday

Today, I am 37 years old. These past few years have taught me valuable lessons, however by the grace of God I am coping with the life I have.

So Britain voted to leave the EU. Yay! Though there is the issue of Sinn Fein demanding a border poll here in Northern Ireland. Hypocritical of them, since they’re mad looking Ireland out of the EU as well. But it’s time that the English cut Scotland loose. They’re the ones holding the rest of the UK back.

Graveyard blessing for Ardboe today. On Thursday I bought new trousers for this event, and size 38 now fits me perfectly. πŸ™‚ I used to be size 46. Progress, eh! πŸ™‚

Now I am considering applying for a TV show about sleep problems. However the application form for it is in PDF format and converting it to Word format is yet another expense. Their loss, I guess.
