I’ll find out this evening

By the end of the working day, I’ll find out if I got the Shopmobility job in Belfast, or not. In the meantime, I put my name down for possible work at Fibrus in Belfast – who won a multi-million-pound contract to provide Fibre-Optic Broadband across Northern Ireland. It was because a woman from Dunloy, on my Quiz group, is a cousin of one of them employees. 🙂 Strike while the iron’s hot. 🙂

The Saturday-Night Quiz, which I was Quizmaster for, turned out well. They’re impressed by my added dimensions to each round. I was inspired by the Ardboe Quizzes.

Keep trudging along. 🙂

Stress

Today, I got frustrated after buying something for a friend in Toronto – Christmas Present – and then buying a parcel box; only to lose the box. It was wrecked my brain all evening. I’m letting it go.

Weekend before last, I bought a £12 USB Keyboard for my MacBook Pro. I intend on buying a similar one for my Artist Friend; as I had a lend of his Laptop last month and he has a broken B key.

I react so easily under stress. I haven’t had good sleep recently. But now I can have some rest.

On a more lighter side; here are group names for dog breeds.

Going crazy

I feel that yesterday was a pivotal moment in my life. On Tuesday night, I had ZERO sleep. Then I only had a forty-minute nap. Then I went berserk; after heading to a friend’s place to borrow his laptop (my MacBook Pro has a damaged charger, and I can’t afford a replacement, yet) and I was about to go on a rampage.

My complementary therapist recommended Magnesium supplements for my sleep. I got that. Also, I went to a chemist and got elderberry tablets. For £14.99! (WTF?)

I am putting in so much effort for so little return. How much longer must this continue?

Migraines – Dammit!

This morning, I had a splitting migraine. The chief factor of this, according to a friend, is dehydration. So, I’m switching to water today – rather than Coffee or Tea.

My car has faulty ESP and ABS, and I left it at a Mechanic in Ardboe today. However, the location was a half-hour walk back to home. So, I didn’t have to wait for a lift home.

I am exempt from Mask-Wearing in the UK and Ireland because I have Asperger’s. Hopefully, I will be exempt from any Vaccines. 😀 I believe that the MMR jab was the reason that I have Asperger’s, to begin with.

Now, I can stay home and focus on other things.

Manic Monday

This morning I woke up when the alarm sounded at 5 am and went to a phone group based in America then got ready to head out to Antrim to get a train to Belfast to speak to Specialisterne NI about the 2gether project that they’re running for those with Autism. It would be good to reach out to others with the same condition. However, the ultimate solution is to find work.

Heading over to Antrim I thought I would avoid the bottleneck by driving to Whiteside’s Corner via the Rougery Road and then turn towards Randalstown. But a van was in front of me all the way from Ardboe with a light out and, whenever he turned to a shop heading to Moneyglas, I let him know his light was out. Then I bought a cappuccino and a builder’s breakfast and just missed what I thought was my expected train in Antrim. However, the fog this morning meant the trains were delayed and I got a train fifteen minutes later.

After the induction with Specialisterne, I felt exhausted. I got a taxi to the place where I get IT help from I was trying to install Debian from my ISO image and there was an issue connecting to the internet. The good news is that I can head over tomorrow and get help prior to an Open Source series of talks about Startups there. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

The drive home from Antrim was a forced exercise. My trousers were too tight and I felt uncomfortable. However, I got home safely and did laundry. Then later I drove to Moneymore to post my travel receipts and then drive to Cookstown to buy groceries at Lidl. Then this evening I moved the lawn before it got dark as it was still dry and the grass was long.

Feeling a sense of accomplishment today. 🙂

Potential paid employment – plus other blessings

My employment advisor is arranging for me to get a job through the workable program, at a new place opening in Toomebridge. Hopefully, that will provide me with much-needed income. It seems that those who want to work suffer, while those who don’t want to work profit. Bizarro World, indeed.

I need to spend as little time as possible on Facebook. It’s like a Vampire, sucking the lifeblood out of one. Fanboys see no other opinion other than their own. Don’t drink ANY political Kool-Aid; be it Tory or Labour.

Last Tuesday I attended a short guided tour of Monkstown Castle, as part of a Meetup. The Wednesday prior I had booked an online day return from Portadown to Dublin and back for £10 – Cheap as Chips – but I booked a taxi from outside Connolly Station and the car we were in kept dying out whenever we approached traffic lights. It was a fuel-efficient automatic. (thanks ever so much Al Bloody Gore) But I saw a burgundy Peugeot turning at a junction at Blackrock – unsure of the road – and nearly running straight into a cyclist in a yellow jacket. There, for the grace of God, go I.

The tour itself was dominated by the random musings of the organiser’s ten-year-old son. He probably has Asperger’s. But I chipped in with some tidbits of information. In the end, I really needed the loo and went to a Chinese Restaurant named Victoria – probably after the Capital of Hong Kong – Then I had just enough for a DART from Monkstown to Connolly and was able to board an earlier train back to Northern Ireland than planned. However, I didn’t have to pay extra thanks to me informing the conductor I was worried that the park where my car is might be locked at night.

My brother is back in Derry for his second year of University, he has placement year sorted as well, and now I have the place to myself. That both gladdens and saddens me. But I will soon be getting proper broadband, once I receive a 4G SIM from EE, and will hope to return to designing websites.

Discussing another voluntary placement today

This morning I will head to Lissan House to discuss a voluntary placement there, with view of paid employment there further down the line. I seem to have made a good first impression at Friday evening whenever I met the office manager; the daughter of my art Teacher. So, all smiles there.

I am all dickied up. Though my left shoe is cutting my heel, but I intend to play through the pain. 🙂 It’s about learning to grow up and be a man, after being a howling brat as a young boy.

Yesterday was the Lama’s Fair in Ardboe and I made myself present for the first fifty-odd minutes. Good to see the kids out enjoying themselves. I was an invisible non-entity at that age.

Gran is beginning to fail

Over the past week my gran’s health has deteriorated, however today she has shown signs of improvement. I first thought it was Alzheimer’s, but it’s probably just weakness due to not eating enough.

This morning; Sunday; I made a curry with my support worker. It turned out pretty well; no after-effects for me. :p Hopefully I can cook more stuff like that in future.

Yesterday evening I had to head to Ardboe Chapel for the anniversary mass for gran’s parents and brother. However, they weren’t called out at the chapel. Breakdown in communication. lol

I am unable to sleep now; it’s 2 am Monday here. Over the past few days I had to switch payment details for my recurring bills. The Belfast branch of the Co-Operative bank will close on Wednesday 29 June. Sorting these things out is a nightmare.

Losing Weight (and Inhibitions)

Today I had a weigh-in from the Dietitian; first appointment since the day before I flew to Paris back in October; and all my hard work giving up sugar paid off. I lost over 15 Pounds and am now under 300 Pounds for the first time in over a Year. Next goal is to get under 20 Stone; 280 Pounds.

Today I had my Health and Safety qualification exam. Yesterday’s induction to Health and Safety went well as both the guy taking it and the Inspector keeping a tab on him were both mighty impressed by me and my attitude; first impressions count. 🙂

Now I feel that, in spite of the gloomy weather and the issue around my car; things are starting to get better.
