Last Sunday – 25 June – was my birthday. I turned 38 and had a few lightbulb moments since I last posted.
On Saturday 17 June I was heading to Belfast to see a Rolling Stones Tribute Act at the Empire Music Hall, but I first wanted to make an evening of it. For that reason I first got the bus from Castledawson park-and-ride to Derry to take photographs around the Sperrins; couldn’t capture the scenery round the valleys due to the trees blocking my way from the bus window. Then I had a Spaghetti Bolognese and orange juice at an Italian restaurant in Foyle Street for £5.20; no way it would be that affordable in Belfast.
Then I just about got a substitute bus from the bus station to the train station, the taxi rank outside Foyle Street no longer exists 😦 , and the got a train to Botanic to take photographs around the North Coast. However I took photographs the other side of the train approaching Greysteel – village between Limavady and Derry where people were murdered in a bar during the Troubles by a UDA nutcase named Torrens Knight. However there were two teenage friends who sat that side and then moved towards another seat, which made me feel uncomfortable as I thought they were considering me a pervert. (I believe Perverts should hang) But, by God’s grace nothing happened as a result.
Once I got to the Empire Music Hall, I realised that the warm-up for drinks and social chat was two hours long. In the end I had to leave before the Tribute Act began as I drank too much Red Bull and began having palpitations. In the end I got a train from Botanic station, right beside the Empire Music Hall, to Great Victoria Street station and waited for an 11 pm bus to Derry and get back to Castledawson park-and-ride and drive home.
Last Thursday – 22 June – I went to a coding Meetup about issues I had regarding a tutorial on Selenium I discovered, only to find out that the code wouldn’t work in a month of Sundays. Suddenly it dawned on me that I was servicing too many people and that I should streamline my options for finding work. I simply chased money by reconsidering coding. Losing so much ground since 1999 proved to be too much in the end.
Also, I have had a cold since Saturday and am now taking Beecham’s to get rid of it. But I also heard that garlic and oranges together work. Must get some at Lidl later. 🙂
Had to endure a godforsaken road with no barrier on the verge of the valley and sheep grazing on the side of the road, on the direction from Draperstown to Plumbridge, but had to excuse myself (too much information) and noticed the view and got my Sony Xperia out. 🙂
