The Sofa Society

The Indoor Badge Challenge Created by Aron Leah

I feel that being an introvert has given me an advantage in this Lockdown. Plus, being friendly with a Canadian Latch-Key Kid from the seventies also provides me with good company.

I posted my brother’s birthday gifts ahead of schedule. It was a sign of appreciation, given all he had to endure in his final semester. During my last semester, as an undergraduate, our home was caught up in the Foot-and-Mouth crisis of 2001. Of course, I lost enthusiasm at final year; underperforming. But I can now say that some things weren’t meant to be achieved.

I also bought an album, last night, on Bandcamp of a Hammond Organ band from Northern Ireland. They were the support act whenever I was at a gig in the Oh Yeah! Music Centre last December. Seemed like only yesterday.

I’m good. They won’t break me, I am standing my ground. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunday

Today was good. I, my artist friend and my Meetup friend, went to Ballyronan Marina for a picnic, listening to a Silver Band and then go for a walk around the Natureย Reserve. It was cloudy today. However, the rain stayed away. Plus, I saw a local man I know whose son has severe Autism and had a charity campaign in his name to receive specialist treatment. However, the crowdfunding campaign was closed on Friday. Perhaps, they have got enough.

I’m good to have kept the vibe going. The blessing of the graves went well, yesterday, and I have had quite a productive weekend. Although, it is sore on the pocket. My Condition Management Programme will end in three weeks. Once that is sorted, I will, hopefully, make a commitment to my future employability scheme. Though, all things being said, the European Social Fund regulations and Red Tape make me want to embrace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister with open arms. Even if he is a Buffoon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My new broadband – plus natural remedies

Today I was a lazybones and didn’t wake up until almost 1 pm UK time. I was worn out after the night before. However after running a cyber errand between 1:30 and 2:30 I ten called the doctor to make a triage appointment over my pink eye – due to too long on the computer. They said they only do emergencies in the afternoon. That prompted me to look up natural remedies and drove to Holland and Barrett in Magherafelt to buy Apple Cider Vinegar.

When at Holland and Barrett I was delayed by a woman looking to exchange hair colouring for another without a receipt. Her grandson was getting anxious about that too; I would have been the same at that age. Eventually, I got seen to and then had a cappuccino at the Costa at Meadow Lane opposite Holland and Barrett.

It’s this constant need to better myself which is motivating me. A few times when driving back I had to brake suddenly. However, I am willing to try out new things.

Tomorrow morning my cleaner comes to sort out my home prior to the anniversary mass for gran on Sunday morning. No man is an island. Except for the Isle of Man. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wednesday Morning 3 am

I was conked out at 6:30 pm yesterday and slept until 12:40 am. It was one of those evenings that didn’t exist for me. But I am grateful for the internet to keep me occupied. W00t. ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning I will be seeing the hygienist for my teeth. Then I have a dentist appointment on Friday morning; the two appointments are separate because I had initially prepared for the Cloud Academy I had an interview for a fortnight ago but didn’t get.

Also, on Monday I got a letter saying that our tax return form wasn’t submitted. I sorted that out yesterday. Also, I went to see my occupational therapist yesterday. But the appointment was for the eighteenth of AUGUST. My bad. ๐Ÿ™‚
